To white people who do not understand/refuse to believe that white privilege exists: turn on your TV and flip through at least twenty channels. Who's race was the most widely represented? Your own. Your race has set in stone? that Caucasian whites are the dominant, 'normal' race against the non-whites. Its in history - American history. Should you feel guilty for the way your people treated minorities? No. But should you be informed on why minorities feel the way they do? Yes.

Why all this talk ...
Why all this talk about "white privilege"? It certainly does look that in the U.S. whites, compared to blacks, have higher social/economic positions, now does it? If this is the ultimate underlying reasoning, why not talk about *asian* privilege or *jewish* privilege? Imagine academia in the U.S. having entire departments devoted to "jewish privilege? studies". Imagine 'positive' discrimination policies directed at privileging non-jews in the socio-economic sphere. Would that be cool?
